When i am placed in a heavy hood i cannot see. If my hearing is compromised by earplugs and external sounds i lose the ability to hear as well. Put away in darkness i have no idea of how long i have been there.

Leather Deprivation Hood
If i am moved around in a hood, or transported in the boot of a car hooded and shackled i have no idea of where i am being taken.
The darkness presses down upon me and makes other senses go into overdrive. A touch, the sound of Mistress’s voice, Her perfume all become so powerful. i am helpless in the dark and i feel vulnerable, as everything feels so much more sensitive. If i am beaten in the dark i have no idea of when or how the next blow will fall. If hot wax is dripped on my nipples it feels so hot and sudden as it touches the skin even if this is not so, because all my senses are heightened.

So darkness intensifies sensation as anyone who has ever worn a blindfold will know. Long periods of darkness have the effect of disorientating the victim as well. If i wake in the night in bondage and hood i wake not knowing where i am or what is happening and it takes a few moments to remember where i am and that all is OK. Darkness can even cause panic even when i know that all is safe.
But when the hood is removed and i emerge blinking into the light i am disorientated. i do not always know where i am or what is happening. This is particularly true if i have been transported to somewhere by car but even a night in darkness leaves me disorientated until i see the face of Mistress and know fully where i am.
Darkness and disorientation are used to stress captives, kidnapped or taken for interrogation. The darkness intensifies all their experiences and everything that is done to them seems so much more threatening. Long periods in darkness leave the subject confused and disorientated so less able to withstand interrogation. These techniques can be used by a Mistress on her slave.
The effect is to leave the slave vulnerable and the sight of Mistress reminds them of the outside world and that She is there. It also shows Her control over the slave. It is Mistress who decides when a slave is allowed to see or hear. She controls this and everything else as well.
